gray day
Makes you want to curl up with a book.
Instead have to be at work till five.
Maybe I will be able to do so when I get home.
Until then, I will continue to do my best at staying on task.

The closing of the greatest political and cultural experiment in Human History: America
The current generation of people on Earth are witnessing the end of the experiment began 232 years ago. America was created out of a crucible of war and radical enlightenment and Christian philosophical thought by a group of succinct and forward-looking men. They began a nation in which everyone of its citizens; no matter where they come from, how wealthy they were, what their family did, whatever their circumstances are created equal and treated as such before the law.
For most of the past two centuries we as Americans have succeeded in upholding this amazing creation with strength and determination. Within the very recent past whether it be because of hubris, complacency, or sheer dumb luck we have let that great experiment blow up on the table of humanity. With the attack on 9/11/01, the subsequent war against an enemy which seemingly pops up everywhere and nowhere at the same time, and now this potentially catastrophic financial crisis which threatens to topple everything which has been created during the past 25 years due to stupid decisions from all corners; America ceases to exist as it was originally created.
With the so-called help of the $700,000,000,000 for people who acted like idiots and gave things to people who were fully unable to afford it, in addition to many of these snake-oil salesmen padding their own portfolios we now enter a new period in the history of this nation. We are now no longer the United States of America, land of the free and home of the brave. Instead we live in the all-knowing, all-seeing, all caring Federal-Socialistic Republics of America. By allowing the Federal Government to become this heavily involved in the financial, credit, and housing areas of our nation in addition to all the other areas from education to ‘reproductive freedom’ which it already has its hands in, freedom and liberty are surely to disappear in the remaining untouched aspects of our lives.
Neither candidate for President this year is able to stand up ‘athwart history’ and say to the American people, this cannot stand; we will return to our greatness and this will truly be the second great American Century full of prosperity, freedom, and greatness for all. We can still be that shining city on a hill where all the world looks for hope and support, but only if we realize that we as a nation must stop allowing the Federal Government to do everything and think through all our tough decisions for us. Only when we realize we must return to a nation created ‘of the people, by the people, and for the people’ will America justifiably be able to tell itself and the rest of the world “we are the greatest nation on the Earth” and actually mean it.
